AGROPYRON INTERMEDIUM
Intermediate Wheatgrass
Perennial forage plant with medium height, growing with roots and stem.
It is grown for the purpose of obtaining hay under the infertile conditions and grazing.
Very tolerant to draught and cold.
Has big seeds and easy to grow.
It covers raw distances as it is a rhizomed plant (stem-root)
The best harvesting time for plant is right when the grass starts spiking. Forage quality starts to fall if run late.
For seeds, harvesting is done when spikes turn yellow.
Dry grass/hay yields 200-300kg under the dry conditions. Seed yield is 30-50 kg.
